been adding music to this playlist for a while

songs that lyrically express what's rotten in heterosexuality, marriage, reproductive futurity, the couple form, the family and so on. because im not much of a music guy (and i really want to emphasise this) it took forever. but i really wanted to do it in part because the love song is so central to our musical culture and the social reproduction of the family.

rec me more music in this vein PLEASE. genre no bar. there's rock and folk and pop and urdu poetry set to music already, but there should be more – its unfinished. some of it is sharper, some of it is very mainstream artists who just hit on something in a heteropessimist or i hate my parents vein. the playlist is temporarily collaborative on spotify too but im looking for a very specific mood clearly.

just to be funny, the first track in the playlist is a podcast episode of sophie lewis discussing her book on family abolition.

I find it so funny, in light of TikTok’s imminent American demise, that even now they aren’t considering moving to tumblr. The last two social media refugee crises (Twitter -> X and whatever happened with Reddit) prompted a wave of wide-eyed new baffled tumblr users to flood this app and yet last I heard all of the tiktokers are flooding en-masse a Chinese social media app. That is entirely in Mandarin. Instead of moving to tumblr.

Y'all I know that when so-called AI generates ridiculous results it's hilarious and I find it as funny as the next guy but I NEED y'all to remember that every single time an AI answer is generated it uses 5x as much energy as a conventional websearch and burns through 10 ml of water. FOR EVERY ANSWER. Each big llm is equal to 300,000 kiligrams of carbon dioxide emissions.

LLMs are killing the environment, and when we generate answers for the lolz we're still contributing to it.

Stop using it. Stop using it for a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g. We need to kill it.

the teacher was just like. well sadly i am a literature teacher and not a priest so i can't help you there. but if it helps, many people throughout history had the same problem.
